Global Filters

Global filters are at the top of a story - by using them you will be able to filter all charts within a story that do not have a local filter applied.

Global Filters

Local Filters

Local filters are applied on each individual chart. By ranking, local filters will be used first, followed by global filters. Which means if you have both global and local filters of the same type applied, the local filter will be respected first. See example below.

Local Filters

Example — Interaction between Global and Local Filters

In this example, the global date filter is set to ‘since 1/1/2020’ but there is a local date filter applied on the Hires (ATS) - YTD chart that is set to ‘since 1/1/2023’. As you can see, the chart is filtered to the months ‘since 1/1/2023’ so the local date filter is being used over the global filter.

This interaction only works when the global and local filters are the same. If you use a different global versus local filter, the global filter will still be applied.
